Application range of magnesium carbon bricks
Magnesium carbon bricks are made of magnesium sand, refired magnesium sand, electrofused magnesium sand, high purity magnesium sand, high quality graphite and bauxite additives. The performance of aluminum-magnesium-carbon bricks has a great relationship with the graphite content in the bricks. As the graphite content increases, the strength of the brick decreases, the thermal expansion rate decreases and the residual expansion rate increases.
Refractory MgO-C bricks are well suited to the requirements of iron and steel smelting. Such bricks are characterized by high refractory, high corrosion resistance, excellent heat resistance, high-temperature anti-scaling stability, high thermal shock resistance, etc., and have been rapidly popularized and applied. The use of carbon materials that are difficult to be wetted by slag and steel, the use of magnesium sand with high refractory properties, high resistance to slag and solubility, low high-temperature creep, etc., will be MgO-C (magnesium and carbon) bricks are used in serious corrosion occasions slag line and products, steel nozzle, and other parts. Due to the large number of magnesium carbon bricks in the steelmaking process and the improvement of iron and steel smelting process, has created a huge economic benefits.
The graphite content in the brick should be controlled at about 20%. Magnesium-carbon bricks have low wettability to slag and are suitable for ladle slag line part, especially for multi-furnace continuous pouring. In order to meet the needs of producing clean steel, magnesium-carbon bricks in the refining process of the ladle has been extended from the slag line to the side wall.
In the ladle, the chemical composition of the slag is complex and variable, and the temperature changes drastically and frequently. The ladle slag line is often used with excellent performance ladle magnesium carbon bricks.
Electric furnace magnesium-carbon bricks are mainly used for the lining and outlet of the oxidizing converter of the medium frequency electric furnace for steelmaking, the hot spot of the wall of the high power electric furnace, the lining of the external refining furnace, and the slag line of the ladle.
